(NOT I.T. Related) Field Service Technician (Hand Tools / Installation Work)
Field Service Technician
As a Field Service Technician (FST), you will be responsible for the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of non-IT healthcare equipment at client sites. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that requires strong technical ability, attention to detail, and professionalism.
This is NOT an IT, networking, or software support role.
Key Responsibilities
Install, troubleshoot, and repair non-IT healthcare equipment for clients.
Accurately complete daily timecards, expense reports, and other required documentation.
Document work activities with notes and photos, and maintain clear records using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Uphold professional communication and etiquette with team members, clients, and leadership.
Provide positive customer service, addressing and escalating issues as needed.
Ensure the proper care of all company and client property.
Follow all environmental, safety, and compliance guidelines.
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Core Job Duties
Communication & Coordination
Collaborate with Field Managers and client contacts to review project requirements.
Provide real-time updates and report any scope or inventory discrepancies.
Scheduling & Timeliness
Arrive on time to all project sites.
Notify leadership of any delays that may impact project timelines.
Installations
Interpret installation diagrams and blueprints.
Confirm installation locations with the Team Lead or client representative.
Maintain a clean work area and dispose of old or unused materials.
Use hand and power tools for construction-related tasks (drywall, tile, masonry, etc.).
Reporting & Documentation
Complete detailed work sign-offs using company-provided templates.
Upload photos and reports of completed work into the company system.
Document and report any issues in real time, including photos and notes.
Inventory Management
Verify all equipment and parts are onsite prior to installation.
Immediately report and document damaged or missing parts (with photos and part numbers).
Training & Onboarding
Review provided installation documents and training videos before starting new projects.
Preferred Experience
High School Diploma or GED
1+ years in a field service technician or similar hands-on role
Proficiency with standard hand tools, power drills, levels, and service test equipment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity with general construction practices (drywall, tile, masonry)
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in Construction, Electronics, and/or Plumbing
Proven customer-facing experience with strong communication skills
