KR Wolfe services clients nationwide with teams of General Contracting Specialists and Systems Integration Specialists focused on constructions and proprietary systems integration within the medical, education, commercial, government and solar fields.
Job Summary
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for preparing and processing all aspects of the company’s weekly payroll and other payroll-related duties in collaboration with the Human Resources department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Onboarding
Assist Human Resources Manager with onboarding by creating New Hire profiles in payroll processing database
Gathers New Hire information to enter input into payroll processing database including workers compensation codes and direct deposit information
Payroll Processing
Review employee timecards to ensure accuracy and no missing timecards
Managing and processing company’s payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees
Prepares weekly reports to provide for final review of payroll prior to submission
Maintains payroll records and ensures compliance with federal, state and local tax law regulations
Maintains and updates employee Paid Time Off
Stays current with changes in legislation that may affect payroll
Handles payroll calculations, deductions and tax withholdings
Exports payroll information from processing database to QuickBooks
Compiles summaries of earnings, taxes and deductions
Processes changes to payroll, such as terminations, relocation and wage increases
Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
Conducts regular audits and assessments to identify any areas of non-compliance
Prevailing Wage
Prevailing Wage Compliance – Understands federal and state labor compliance and prevailing wage regulations and standards; applies changes/ updates to procedures accordingly
Reviews contracts for Prevailing Wage requirements and gathers appropriate Wage Determinations that apply
Calculates Prevailing Wage wages and fringe benefit calculation and coding
Review and comply with Prevailing Wage requirements when bidding projects and compliance when projects are awarded to the company.
Prepares, completes and submits all required federal and state Prevailing Wage forms and documents
Qualification Standards
Minimum 3 years’ experience with payroll calculation and processing
Excellent understanding of the payroll process and related legislation and regulations
Minimum 3 years’ experience with prevailing wage compliance experience and understanding of Multi-state Labor Codes
Experience with submitting DIR eCPRs, LCP Tracker and/or like reporting platforms
Microsoft Office and Excel skills with advanced formulas, report creation, etc. (Excel certificate classes preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred
